Graduation 2010
28 September 2010 was the crowning moment for the 13 international law graduates of the LL.M. Classes 2009 and 2010. Many of these years’ graduates were able to be present to receive their diploma in the ceremony and added greatly to the colorful international reputation of the International Legal Studies Program. The students came from Belgium, Brazil, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Korea, Mazedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia, UK, Ukraine, and the USA.
Professor August Reinisch, the Program Director, emphasised the importance of the location of this international law program near to the premises of the UN headquarters in Vienna, and stressed the excellent output of some LL.M. graduates.
Students at Vienna’s LL.M Program in International Legal Studies come from “all walks of law”. The foremost individual achievements of this year’s graduates include:
- Richard Davies – also formed part of this years team at the Telders International Moot Court Competition in The Hague (largest European Competition in International Law) and won the Best Oralist Award
- Ruth Muithuiya Kiragu – best student of the year and former legal officer for the Christian Health Association Kenya (CHAK)
- Yuliya Gabidulina – second best student of the year and former legal adviser at the Ministry for Economic Development, Moscow
- Hyunji Shim – third best student of the year and former Korean District Court Judge
- Jhovanna Coira González – best thesis of the year and former attorney in Puerto Rico
