Advanced Study in Psychotherapy: Systemic Psychotherapy/Systemic Family Therapy

Systemic psychotherapy/systemic family therapy is one of the largest schools of psychotherapy in Austria. It is characterised by a context- and resource-oriented view on psychological problems. Humans – as well as any potential symptoms – develop based on the individual living conditions. Humans present and experience themselves differently, depending on the specific (relationship) contexts. Based on systemic, constructivist/constructionist and post-structuralist theories, systemic psychotherapy combines different approaches that complement each other: solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, collaborative/dialogical therapy, hypnosystemic therapy, emotion-based systemic therapy. Systemic therapists work in individual, couple or group settings with children, adolescents and adults.

In addition to psychotherapy, the systemic approach is also used in supervision, counselling or coaching.
